How to use your Galvanic Spa II System

The Galvanic Spa II includes conductors for the face, scalp and body. The following are general instructions for operating your Galvanic Spa II Instrument. Specific instructions for individual treatments are on the Treatment Instructions Cards provided in the lid of the carrying case. Read these treatment instruction cards before beginning a Galvanic Spa II Treatment.
  1. To release a conductor: With your free hand on the conductor being released, hold the instrument with the chrome activation panel facing you and press on the release button firmly with your thumb until the conductor released from the instrument.
  2. To attach a conductor: Hold the instrument with the display side up, and the conductor with the positioning indicator (small etch) facing you. Press firmly to snap the conductor into place. If the conductor fails to attach, make certain the conductor is positioned correctly. Forcing the conductor could damage both the instrument and the conductor. The instrument will not work unless the conductor is attached correctly.
  3. To turn on the instrument: Press the selection button once. One fountain will appear in the display.
  4. To select a fountain (polarity) setting: The one fountain that appears in the display after turning on your instrument indicates the one-fountain (negative polarity) setting has been selected. To select the two-fountain (positive polarity) setting, press the selection button again.
  5. To select a time setting: Once you have selected the appropriate fountain setting for your treatment, wait for the number “1” to appear. You can then select either a two, three, or five minute time setting by immediately pressing the selection button repeatedly until the display is blank. You can turn off your instrument and begin the fountain/time selection process again at any time by pressing the selection button repeatedly until the display is blank.
  6. To activate the galvanic current: Your fingers must be touching the chrome activation panel on the back of the instrument while the top of the conductor makes contact with the area to be treated. (A slightly moistened hand is recommended.) If you loose contact with the chrome panel at any time during treatment, simply adjust your hold on the instrument to resume your timed treatment. You will hear one, two, or three beeps as the instrument automatically sets the current level for your skin type. Three arrows will indicate your timed treatment has begun. The instrument will beep at 20-second intervals during treatment. Two beeps and a check mark in the display will indicate the treatment is complete.
  7. To perform treatment: For all treatments you must attach the appropriate conductor to your Galvanic Spa II Instrument and apply the appropriate gel or treatment formula. Specific instructions for individual treatments are on the treatment instruction cards provided in the lid of your carrying case. Consult these treatment instruction cards before beginning a Galvanic Spa II Treatment.

Important maintenance

Directions for cleaning your instrument and conductors: After use, remove any excess product from the instrument and conductors with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly. Directions for changing batteries: Your Galvanic Spa™ II comes with two AAA batteries installed. When batteries are low, the battery icon will appear in the display. When you see this icon, install two new AAA batteries.

To replace batteries, apply pressure just above the battery compartment cover. Grip the cover tightly and pull firmly. If the cover is difficult to remove, apply more pressure to the instrument and pull on the cover with greater force. The cover will eventually disengage from the compartment.

Pull gently on the ribbon to remove the used batteries. Replace with two fresh AAA batteries by following the placement instructions in the battery compartment. Remember to replace the ribbon under the batteries to facilitate future removal.

Replace the cover. The cover should slide securely into place.
